WWE Backlash 2024: John Cena & Another Legendary Name Reportedly in France

A couple of marquee names are reportedly in France ahead of this Saturday's WWE Backlash 2024 PLE, and John Cena is one of those superstars.

WWE is heading to Lyon, France for an event that will be headlined by an Undisputed WWE Championship match between titleholder Cody Rhodes and AJ Styles. There are some other key title matches set for the card, but could there be two massive surprises?

One report from PWInsider claims that two legendary WWE names are in town, but will they be a part of the show?

In the report, it's noted that John Cena and Charlotte Flair have arrived in France. It's mentioned that there is no word on if the two are simply visiting backstage or if they will be featured on-air at WWE Backlash 2024.

Cena was last seen in a WWE ring on the April 8th episode of Monday Night Raw. After planting Solo Sikoa with an Attitude Adjustment on the announce table and eating a Rock Bottom at WrestleMania 40, Cena teamed with R-Truth and The Miz to defeat Finn Balor, Dominik Mysterio, and JD McDonagh of The Judgment Day.

As for "The Queen" Charlotte Flair, she has been out of action since late 2023 after suffering a torn ACL, MCL, and meniscus. On opening day of the WWE World experience during WrestleMania weekend, Charlotte told Sports Illustrated's MMA Knockout that she spoke to Shotzi, who recently suffered a torn ACL herself, to give her advice on what to do during her time away from the ring.
